Thank you, Thank you once again to all our Patron’s and their families and friends who have supported us throughout last year. We look forward to yet another successful year and in particular to our big production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
I can hear you saying ‘it’s not for me’ but it is, it is such a fun show with lots of songs which you will know. It is very colourful and really does have the WOW factor so please book your tickets. The show is based in Australia and tells the story of 2 drag queens and a transgender woman but the fun and laughter they get up to is very entertaining and not distasteful in any way. One of our eldest members said to me ‘Is Bournemouth ready for this’ and I believe it is so come along and enjoy. Tickets can be ordered through me or come along to our Coffee Morning on Thursday 16 March 10:30 – 12 noon at the Mayfair Hotel.
Our Concert which we performed at Pelhams on Friday 10 February and again for the Blind Society at Rooper Hall last Saturday was, I believe, one of the best Concerts we have done. It was well attended and we made a just over £500 on the show and a further £106 on the raffle. We have lots of ‘young’ new voices and it really was a joy to listen to. A ‘Song for You’ was based on names of Songs eg Oh Carol, Hey Jude, Sweet Caroline and many others. Darren our New Chairman produced it along with Heather who did the choreography, they worked tirelessly together to produce this fabulous event.
Our Christmas get-together at Rupert Hall with Mulled Wine with Mince Pies and nibbles was not as busy as we would have liked but John Gherkin was MC and we had lots of fun singing our favourite Carol’s and Christmas Songs, and generally catching up with each other.
Our Coffee morning is on Thursday 16 March 2017 in the Garden Room of the Mayfair Hotel, Bath Road from 10:30 to 12 noon. Please come along and support us, cost is still £5.00 and there will be the usual Raffle to help boost our funds. A couple of members of the cast will come along to give us some inside information about the show. As we didn’t manage a November 2016 Coffee Morning we hope you will come along.
We plan to do 2 shows next year, as we cannot get our July spot at the Pavilion. We aim to do a big family production in October at the Pavilion and a smaller production in March at the Regent Centre. We may have more information to give you at the Coffee Morning.
